"हम्रयस्यापी समृद्धितो गृहपतिवृद्धिं यदापीहते 

सरवाशासु विवेर्धन्च् फल्दं दुष्टं तदेकत्र च

प्रांड्त्रेरपि वैरमुत्तरदिशाभागे मन्सन्ताप् कृत्

 पर्थ्विनशि दक्षिणदिशाः शत्रोभर्यं वर्धते " 

For those who want to increase their prosperity by extending the boundaries of their dwellings, they should extend the boundaries in all four directions. Extension in only one direction will be unpropitious. Extension in east will lead to enmity with friends, extension in North will lead to mental tensions. West extension will lead to depletion of wealth and South extension will lead to threats from enemies.

Summary: The notion that extension in North and East is good and increases fortune is wrong. Any extension in any direction will disturb the mathematical proportions of the plot leading to imbalances in life.
