Orientation in case of Ashrams, Forts, Holy places etc. Anomalies in Gravity. Exceptions of Dik Sadhan

Orientation in case of Ashrams, Forts, Holy places etc. Anomalies in Gravity. Exceptions of Dik Sadhan

             "नदीनां सङ्गमे तीर्थे दुर्गे सिद्धाश्रमे गिरौ ।

वास्तुस्थानवशात्कार्यं दिशादोषो न विघ्यते ॥ ८१ ॥"

मिश्रकलक्षणम्

The exceptions in Diksadhan. Same kind of sloka is mentioned in Silpa Ratnakar.
Orientation of dwellings, Diksadhan.

Rajvallabha, Silparatnakara mentions the possible problems that affect an individual when the dwellings are not properly aligned according to proper directions. The dwellings are dikmudha or Vidik.

But there is an exception to this rule which is interesting.

According to these slokas the dwellings to be constructed near the river, or where water currents merge in each other (Sangam), Teerth or a holy place, Durg or Fort, Siddhaashram or an ashram of spiritual and holy souls, Mountain etc; need not require diksadhan or Orientation of directions.

Shilpa Ratnakar says that these places are good for Devalaya or Ashram only.
This is interesting because usually all Granthas on vastu mention that one should orient the dwellings based on directions.

Now all these places have one thing in common. These places carry gravity anomalies. Though Some tests need to be conducted near holy places and Siddhaashrams but river banks and mountains have such anomalies. The altitude and topographical data results in such anomalies and that might be the reason why orientation can be avoided at such places.

This is my assumption but this should be tested.
