VASTU SUTRA: There are five type of walls which are defined in Sthapatya. These are "Sila Nirmita" (Stone wall), "Isthika Nirmitta"(Brick Walls), "Phalaka Nirmitta(Slab walls),"Mranmaya Nirmitta"(Mud Wall)," Kashtha Nirmitta"(Wooden walls). The stone construction is prohibited for residential houses. Stone and brick mixed wall constructions are accepted. This is possible as stones absorb heat and they become too hot during summer. This is not fit for residential houses, so the stone walls are avoided by vastu granthas.
