VASTU SUTRA: The Bed or Shayan has special place in Vastu. The head portion or side should be backed by a proper wall. No heavier construction like beams should be allowed above the bed. The wood used in the bed should be proper and should carry lesser joints. Trees from graveyard, trees from burnt forest should not be used in making bed. The bed should not carry any cracks or the person sleeping on it may fell ill. The pillows for head should be opposite to the true north, that is South. This keeps us magnetically aligned to the directions while sleeping.
